The team of dental professionals at Grand Dental Center offers complete dentistry services, from basic preventive care to the latest in cosmetic procedures and restorative dentistry. You can always expect to be treated with care by our friendly and competent team from your first call to all of your follow-up and recare visits.
Dr. Johnson received her undergraduate degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, and in 1998 received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Her dental experience includes two years as an associate with her father, Dr. Tom Lidahl, at Sheridan Dental Clinic in Plentywood, MT and one year as an associate in Waseca, MN prior to starting in Grand Rapids with Dr. Michael Nielsen in 2001. She and Dr. Nielsen practiced together for six years before his retirement in 2007.
Continuing education is important to Dr. Johnson, and she takes part in numerous courses annually to keep her dental knowledge and skills up to date. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the American College of Dentists, as well as several local dental study clubs.
You could say Dr. Johnson is a “CE junkie”!
Dr. Johnson is also the mother of two “twenty-something” sons, but currently no pets, although she is a real dog lover! She also enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, and participating in local community and church organizations.
Dr. McBride was born and raised in Grand Rapids, graduating from Grand Rapids High School in 2005. She received her undergraduate degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, MN and then attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where she graduated with distinction with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2013. After dental school, Dr. McBride completed a General Practice Residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Dr. McBride’s dental experience includes two years as an associate general dentist in Charlotte, North Carolina prior to starting at Grand Dental Center with Dr. Lisa Johnson in 2015. She enjoys providing a wide range of dental services
within the general practice setting and treats patients of all ages and backgrounds. Dr. McBride is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, the MN Northeastern District Dental Society, the Itasca Dental Society, and the Grand Rapids Spear Study Club.
Dr. McBride enjoys spending time with her husband, Tom, and their two children, as well as friends and family. Other hobbies and interests include swimming in the beautiful Minnesota lakes, spending time outdoors, hiking and traveling.
Dr. Tom Lidahl: Grand Dental Center welcomed Dr. Tom Lidahl in September 2012. Dr. Lidahl will be working on a part-time basis, and Dr. Johnson is particularly excited to work with him again, as it gives her another opportunity to work with her father! Here’s a little bit about Dr. Tom:
Dr. Tom Lidahl was born and raised in Plentywood, Montana. He earned a B.A. degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Oregon Dental School in Portland, Oregon. After dental school, Dr. Lidahl, his wife Mary, and their 2 daughters spent two years at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he served in the U.S. Army Dental Corps, the second of those years as Chief of Operative Dentistry at Womack Army Hospital. Following his tour of duty, Dr. Lidahl moved back to Plentywood and began his private practice by establishing Sheridan Dental Clinic. Professionally, Dr. Lidahl is a past President of the Montana Dental Association. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Montana Dental Association, and an associate member of the Minnesota Dental Association. In 2010 he was granted Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Lidahl is also a Fellow of the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists and has served as state chair of both those organizations.
When he isn’t practicing dentistry, Dr. Lidahl is an avid photographer and enjoys bow hunting, traveling, and spending time with his five grandchildren.
Alyssa graduated from Dental Hygiene School in 2014 and has been with Grand Dental Center since 2015. She strives to provide comfortable and educational appointments for her patients that build a sense of trust beyond the chair. Outside of the office she enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, attending her kids’ sporting events and traveling, all while making memories with her family.
With over 22 years of experience as a dedicated dental hygienist, Kala enjoys building lasting relationships with her patients. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two teenage sons, spending time outdoors, reading, crafting and baking.
Rachel is a dedicated dental hygienist with over 10 years in the field. She is a proud mom of three boys who keep her busy at the hockey rink. When she’s not caring for patients, you’ll likely find her cheering from the stands and enjoying the fast pace of family life!
With 37+ years as a dedicated, licensed dental assistant, Renee’ brings a wealth of experience and care to her work. Outside of the office, she enjoys fishing adventures with her husband, traveling to the Florida Keys, and cherished time with her three grandchildren.
With over 30 years of experience as a dental assistant, Kerry likes helping patients feel comfortable and cared for during their visits. Outside of the office, she loves spending time outdoors with her family, along with her dog and cat.
McKenzi has been an assistant with the Grand Dental Center team since 2015. She takes pride in providing compassionate care to every patient she meets to create a comfortable experience throughout the patient’s visit. Outside of the office she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and their dog.
With over 7 years of experience in dental office administration, Jojo is the heart of our front office! She’s known for her positive attitude, organization, and genuine care for every patient who walks through the door. Outside of work, Jojo enjoys a full and joyful life with her husband and six children and three grandchildren. A travel enthusiast who has explored 17 countries (and counting!), she loves discovering new places and cultures—always bringing her cheerful energy wherever she goes. When she’s not planning her next adventure, you’ll find her reading, gardening, or indulging in a little shopping.
Lisa grew up in northern Minnesota and enjoys spending time with her three children and six grandchildren. With more than 10 years of administrative experience, she has built a career centered on organization, teamwork, and helping others succeed. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and exploring new places, and she stays active by playing pickleball, a favorite pastime that combines fun, fitness, and community. Rooted in her northern Minnesota upbringing, yet always open to new experiences, she brings positivity and balance to both her professional and personal life.
